Unit 12 A girl and three bears

Today I’ll talk about unit 9, a girl and three bears. The lesson is a story about a girl and three bears. I will talk about it from 3 parts.

1. Teaching material.

2. Teaching aims.

3. Teaching procedure.

Well, firstly I’ll talk about the teaching material. There are a lot of pictures here. And students will be interested in the book. The story is funny and interesting. Students can enjoy the story and learn some new words and sentences. The story is easy and short. It’s easy for students to master and understand.

Then I’ll talk about the next part teaching aims.

Teaching aims

Aims of knowledge:

1. Be able to read and understand the phrases: house、go out、hungry、thirsty、tired、bread.

2. Be able to know the sentence: I’m…./ I want (to)……/That’s all right.

Aims of ability:

1. Students can master some relevant listening skills and speaking skills.

Aims of emotion:

Students can express what they want.

Key point:

1. Master the key words.

2. Master the sentences.

Difficult point:

1. Read the key words correctly.

2. Make sentences in their own words..

 

Teaching steps:

Step1

Lead in: (3~5min)

1. Here I’ll use PPT to Show a riddle and invite students to guess what animals are they? Next I’ll play a song about three bears. And try to ask them to follow it to sing together.

Step2: teaching new word. I’ll introduce three bears and what do they want. At the same time, I’ll teach some new words and sentences. Consolidate the new knowledge by playing a game.

Step3: invite students to practice the new words and new sentences.( by group reading and personal reading).

Now look at this picture, it’s a bear. Next one, how many bears? Yes, there are two bears. Last one, how many bears? Great, there are three bears. Look, who are they? Listen~(play audio)I’m papa bear. Please say hello to papa bear.

S:(hello, papa bear)

T: Look, who is she? Listen~ she is mama bear. Hi mama bear. And the last one is baby bear. Listen~ hi, I’m baby bear. Follow me, baby, baby. Group one, please read. Group two, group three, group four.

Presentation: (30~35min)

T: listen~ what do they say? (picture7) who can try?

S1: It’s sunny. Let’s go out.

T: great! It’s sunny. Let’s go out. Please read together.

T: go out, go out, go, go, go.

S: go out, go out, go, go, go.

T: three bears go out and they go to the forest. Look, what can they see?

S: house.

T: wonderful. Yes, they see a house. Follow me, house house. Ok, this line, please read it one by one.

S:(house, house, house……..)

T: house, house, nice and warm.

S: house, house, nice and warm.

T: how to spell?

S: h-o-u-s-e

T: what is it? It’s a horse.

S: horse.

T: how to spell?

S: h-o-r-s-e

T: now let’s play a game Quick response. What can you see, please speak out, do you understand? (show the games)

S: horse, house, house, horse.

T: Good! Three bears see a house and they go into the house, what can they see on the desk?

S1: bread.

T: wonderful. Read after me, bread, bread. This line, can you try?

S: bread, bread, bread…….

T: now please listen, what does baby bear say? Who can try?

S: I’m hungry. I want some bread.

T: good! I’m hungry. I want some bread. Hungry, hungry. I’m hungry.

S: Hungry, hungry. I’m hungry.

T: I want some bread.

S: I want some bread.

T: now group one, you are baby bear, and group two, you are mama bear. And group three and group four you are papa bear. Ok, listen!

Group one: I’m hungry. I want some bread.

Group two: I’m hungry. I want some soup.

Group three and group four: I’m hungry. I want a hamburger.

T: soup, soup. Hamburger, hamburger.

T: mama bear goes into the house and she says, listen~

I’m thirsty. I want some milk. Follow me. Thirsty, thisty, I’m thirsty.

S: Thirsty, thisty, I’m thirsty.

T: I’m thirsty. I want some milk.

S: I’m thirsty. I want some milk.

T: oh, look! Papa bear is very tired. Tired, tired, I’m tired.

S: Tired, tired, I’m tired.

T: look, what is it? It’s a bed. Bed, bed

S: Bed, bed.

T: I’m tired. So I want to sleep.

S: I’m tired. So I want to sleep.

T: touch this bed. Is it hard?

S: yes, it’s hard.

T: touch this bed. Is it hard?

S: no, it’s soft.

Homework:

Today’s homework: make five sentence in your own words.
